Good on you for actually sitting down with the fine print before chasing the rollover, most punters find out which games count at 1am mid-churn. Did the slots contribution sit at 100% for you, or did the table games drag it out? I keep a little sheet of turnover per bonus myself, and the game weighting is always where the EV quietly dies.
Volatility > vibes.

Slots were the 100% side of it for me, tables counted so little I didn't even bother, my old habit of sneaking a few blackjack hands into a rollover died right there. Read the fine print properly this time before touching the NZ$ deposit and it changed the whole plan. Turned 50 into 5k once back on the ones that used to pay, so I've got patience for a grind, but chasing table games through a bonus is just handing it back. Sweet as when you know which games count beforehand 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.

So "contribution" just means how much each game counts toward the rollover? Like pokies at 100% but tables way less? 😅 Go easy on me, still learning this stuff.

New here, soaking it up.

Tramping15, no stress mate, we were all where you are once. Contribution just means how much of each bet gets counted toward the rollover. Spin the pokies and the whole lot goes on the meter, but slap a tenner on blackjack and maybe only a sliver of it moves you forward. Some places count next to nothing on tables. So a bloke who thinks he'll grind out the wagering with a bit of clever 21 play ends up spinning in circles for weeks. I learned this the hard way back in the day, long before bonus maths was polite enough to be written down anywhere. Turned NZ$50 into 5k once and then blew the lot because I hadn't clocked that half my play didn't even count toward clearing. The old slots hit different, they do, but these days the pokies doing 100% is basically your whole route, tables are a nice palava to have on the side, not a rollover tool. Ask away if any of it's still murky 😉
It's all hit and busted before, folks.

Yeah the contribution thing hit me too, chucked some spins on my favourite pokies first thing assuming they all counted, then found out one of them was weighted way less and I'd been churning for nothing for an hour 😅 now I check the eligible games list BEFORE I even deposit, lesson burnt in ah well 🔥🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.

@MissFortuneFortuna been there mate, burnt an evening on a weighted game once too 😅 now Jackpot City's my all-time favourite anyway, cleared a bonus on it every evening last month and hit HUGE 🤑💰🎰
One slot, one love 🎰

The bit that gets me is people who finish the rollover without ever working out the effective cost. You churn, say, a full turnover through pokies and the house edge quietly eats its share, so on a small spin sample it feels like free money when the maths says otherwise. Fortuna's burnt hour is the classic case; keep the eligible list open beside you and the churn actually means something. Anyone clocked whether excluded games void the bonus outright or just refuse to count?
RTP is a long-run number.

Good explanation @Tauranga_Loyal. I turned NZ$50 into 5k once clearing a rollover on the old high-paying pokies. Check that eligible list first, always 😉

WhaleGG is right, the effective cost is where people get caught out. I worked out my bet per spin against the rollover before I even touch a Jackpot City bonus now, went NZ$2 a spin last clearing and did my head in till it finally hit, then banked the cashout straight away. Bankroll discipline wins, always check the eligible pokies list first 😭🎰

@SamRotorua832 my NZ$2 spins just die of old age before rollover finishes 🤣 then again my bank left in style last time so who's laughing
One more spin, promise.

@WhaleGG spot on, that house edge tax on a 70x rollover is why I work out my bet per spin before I even accept the Jackpot City bonus. Small spins, longer grind, better chance it actually hits 💸

@BankrollGod small spins on a 70x is the only sane play, agreed. I busted more banks than you've deposited chasing rollovers at $5 a spin back in the day 😄 these days I do the same maths before accepting anything, and half the time the bonus isn't worth touching at all. turned NZ$50 into 5k once doing it slow, but that's one story against a hundred quiet losses.

70x rollover doesn't scare me one bit 😤 Jackpot City's been my evening ritual for ages now, cleared the welcome bonus playing my favourite pokies and it just clicks for me, cashed out NZ$850 off one session ngl 🤑💰🎰 Grind it small like BankrollGod says and let the wins come 🎰🔥
The hit is close, I can feel it.

@ChrisDunedin NZ$850 off one session is a proper haul 🔥 I've been on my favourite slot every evening too and hit big last night, banking NZ$620 after clearing the Jackpot City bonus myself. Small spins genuinely work, no idea why people take the 70x at $5 a spin and act shocked when it's gone 🤑🎰

Word is the Jackpot City welcome offer's got a mate of mine on the inside saying certain pokies are running hot right now 🤫 didn't clear the full 70x myself, bailed halfway. Those who know, know. Check your DMs for the mirror on which games actually count toward rollover 😏

@Provably_Lab chur, NZ$620 cleared is mint 🔥 I did similar on the Jackpot City rollover, kept spins tiny and the bonus actually paid for once, cashed NZ$400ish after grinding through it. Anyone still taking 70x at $5 a spin is just donating lol 🤑🎰
