Ran the Big Candy no-deposit offer last week and my spreadsheet already hates me for it. The headline is the rollover: I tracked every spin on my RTP sheet, and the sticking point turned out to be game weighting, a decent chunk of the catalogue contributes bugger-all towards wagering, so you end up grinding on the same handful of pokies whether you like them or not. And since the variance on those allowed games runs hot, your balance swings wildly while the requirement barely moves. EV is still negative once you factor in what doesn't count, obviously, but as a free look at their lobby it did its job. What I'd flag for anyone chasing it: check which games count before you touch a single free spin, because getting stuck halfway through and realising your favourite slot was excluded the whole time is the classic trap. Also watch the expiry window — I had to re-plan my sessions around it rather than just spinning when bored.
Volatility > vibes.

That game weighting catch got me years ago too, back when the old slots hit different and you could actually clear a no-deposit on the pokies you liked 😄 nowadays they herd you onto the low-contribution stuff and hope you get bored before rollover. Your spreadsheet habit would've saved me a busted bank or two, youngster, did you clock whether the table games counted at all, or was it spins-only for wagering?

It's all hit and busted before, folks.

Game weighting killing your rollover is the oldest trick in the book, and they always bury it in the T&Cs where nobody reads. Spreadsheets are cute and all, but I'll take this seriously the second someone posts an actual withdrawal screenshot from Big Candy, until then it's just free spins that died on dead-weight games. Anyone here actually cleared the wagering and got paid, or are we still in the "it nearly paid" stage?
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.

Same weighting headache on my run, most of my bonus spins went dead on the low-contribution pokies and I spent half the rollover just grinding filler games I'd never touch with my own NZ$ 🎰 Bankroll discipline got me close, but no cashout yet either, so yeah, screenshots or it didn't happen.
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

Funny how the skeptics always shout "screenshot or it didn't happen" while never running the offer themselves 😄 I'd wager BankrollMath hasn't spun a no-deposit since the old slots hit different, the weighting grind is exactly why these freebies pay the casino more than us, and greed for an easy cashout is how they get you. Still, fair call on the proof, someone post the withdrawal and shut us all up.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

The EV on a no-deposit is negative before you spin, so the weighting grind isn't a flaw in Big Candy's offer, that's just me doing the arithmetic out loud... wait, let me put it properly: the freebie is priced at roughly zero value once you factor in filler-game variance, and OtagoBro is right that running it yourself beats scepticising from the sideline. My session example: whatever fraction of rollover your preferred pokies actually contribute, every spin on a low-weighted game multiplies your time-in-saddle, and your spin sample is tiny anyway before variance decides.

NeverStopSpinning, negative EV before you spin a single reel? Mate, that's true of every bonus including the ones I've banked on, so why bother tracking anything at all 😭 The whole point of a no-deposit is you're playing with house money, worst case you grind filler pokies for an evening, best case you hit something decent and cash out. Zero risk to my own NZ$. QueenOfSpins, did your low-contribution grind at least keep the balance ticking over, or were the spins dead flat the whole way? On my run the weighting caught me out too, but I want to know if anyone actually cleared the rollover on this one before I burn another evening on it 🔥

BankrollGod has a point worth sharpening though: house money changes the variance picture even when the EV is ugly. Think of it like a raffle ticket someone hands you for free, nobody calculates whether the prize pool was worth it, they just buy the ticket with someone else's coin. That said, the reason I still track every spin on these no-deposit runs is hit rate, not EV. A bonus with heavy game weighting can churn you through hundreds of dead spins on filler pokies and never once put you in a position to clear the rollover, whereas a similar offer weighted toward higher-contribution games at least gives your tiny spin sample a fighting chance. So both of you are right in different columns of my sheet: expected value decides whether the offer exists at all, hit rate and weighting decide whether an evening of grinding goes anywhere. On a small spin sample you can't even measure much, but the structural maths you can read off the terms before you start.
RTP is a long-run number.

House money eh, that's why the weighting grind feels less painful 🤡 Still guaranteed minus long-run. So where's the profit? 😏
A paper win won't feed you.

@FortuneVegas60 profit's whatever cashout you snag before the grind eats ya, that's the whole point 😂 you're doing long-run maths on a freebie, no one's into it for EV lol. My Big Candy run actually landed sweet, hit big last night on one of the bonus spins and pulled a couple hundred NZ$ off pure house coin 🤑🤑 filler pokies are dead boring tho I nearly gave up twice, ah well. Free shot every time for me 🎰💰
Backing my slot to the last spin.

FortuneVegas60 mate you're doing maths on a free ticket 😂 Nobody here got stiffed out of their own coin, that's the whole beauty of a no-deposit! Ran the same Big Candy rollover myself last week and yeah the filler grind gets dead boring, but any spin that actually lands feels like pure profit 💰 Best case you find a new favourite pokie while wagering someone else's bonus, worst case you had a free evening of spins. FortuneVegas60 if you want guaranteed positive long-run then don't take ANY bonus ever, but then you're just a flat better complaining the free stuff is free 🤡🤑 Honestly some of my biggest wins started off exactly like this, zero risk entry. That's the profit right there 🔥🎰
One slot, one love 🎰

Wrapped my Big Candy run last night and the weighting grind did me in, filler pokies chewed the balance down to dust before anything meaningful landed 😭 Free coin's free coin though, so can't complain. Anyone else actually clear this rollover and get a cashout through, or did the wagering kill everyone at the same spot? 🔥

This thread is honestly teaching me more than the bonus T&Cs did 😅 I haven't tried Big Candy yet, is the wagering on pokies only or do table games count for anything? Feel like that's where people get caught before the grind even starts 🤔
New here, soaking it up.

@Tramping15 yep pokies only, tables count for nothing on the rollover 😅 took the freebie myself a while back, fillers chewed me down too but then hit big last night vibes on the candy one - snagged a NZ$180 cashout before the grind finished me lol. Just read the T&Cs twice and keep expectations low, it's free coin at the end of the day 🔥🎰
The hit is close, I can feel it.

@Jandal_Mad every evening is where the house edge catches up. One big freebie hit is your spin sample being tiny; the RTP shows itself over hundreds of sessions, and it grinds 📊

@Tramping15 from memory the Big Candy rollover counts pokies only, tables gave sweet bugger all towards it when I ran my freebie. Stick to the pokies and don't expect the fillers to pay, my balance melted too but any decent hit on this slot pays 🤑🎰💰..

@GaryWins nah you're spot on, tables are a waste of a spin on the rollover 😅 I burnt my freebie lesson the hard way too. The candy slot though?? THAT'S the one 🔥 had a night where it just kept feeding me, cashed out and felt like a public holiday honestly 🤑 still on it every evening, some nights the fillers eat ya alive ah well, one decent hit makes the whole week worth it 💰🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.

@MissFortuneFortuna that public holiday feeling is real, had the same on the Big Candy no-deposit myself 🎰 went in at NZ$0.50 a spin on the rollover, kept the bet flat, hit a decent feature run and cashed out before I could talk myself into another round. Cashing out in time is everything, the candy slot gives you the window, you just have to take it. @RngGodEnjoyer not a dumb question at all. On the freebie I remember it was pokies-only counting and tables contributing nothing, which is why Gary and Fortuna say skip the tables. Read the promo page before you spin, work out your bet size from the rollover so you're not betting your whole balance to clear NZ$ of bonus. Also the thing Auckland_NZ said about it "coming back with something", OtagoLocal has a point, one good run isn't the long-run picture, so once it's cleared, withdraw. 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@cashed out before you could talk yourself into another round". Mate that's the hardest achievement in the game 🤣 my bank left in style instead. NZ$0.50 flat on the rollover is the way though.

I've had plenty on it and it keeps coming back with something for me. freebies are free NZ$ anyway, you play pokies-only, grind the rollover and worst case you've lost nothing 😤 that's the whole point of the no-deposit crew. come have one spin on it tonight and tell me the reels don't sing 🎰💰

Maybe a dumb question 😅 when you cleared the candy bonus, how many times through was the rollover? I've just finished my first deposit bonus and pokies-only counting still confuses me 🙏

@RngGodEnjoyer not dumb at all, I asked the same thing last week 😅 from what I worked out the rollover counts pokies at full value, so every spin just adds to the total until you've been through it that many times. I kept my bets small on Big Candy's no-deposit like Christchurch_Bro said and it made the counting way less scary. Do you know if table games count less on yours? 🤔

@RollerChaser51 yep that matches what I got told as well, pokies count full on the Big Candy rollover so every spin ticks the box. Word is the candy one's been paying out decent this week too 😏 kept mine flat at NZ$0.50 like the others said, cashed what was left before I got greedy. Still got a mirror in the DMs from a contact if anyone wants to compare notes on which one's heating up 🤫

Big Candy rollover counting pokies at full value is why I keep coming back to that no-deposit tbh 🔥 did mine flat at NZ$0.50 a spin too and the candy slot was in a mood that night, hit big last night actually, well the week before, but same energy, cashed out over NZ$300 from basically nothing 🤑🎰 gotta say the discipline talk in here is spot on though, the one time I got greedy after clearing the rollover I gave half of it back lmao 😅 won't make that mistake twice. anyone know if the candy one's still running this week or did the promo cycle over?

@Payout_Analyst flat NZ$0.50 on the rollover is the only way to play it imo 😂 I got greedy one night and pumped it up chasing the candy slot, blew half of it back in ten mins 🤦 done keeping it flat and cashing before regret hits 🔥💰

Keen on anything free to be honest, been grinding Big Candy since that no deposit drop hit the NZ players. Won't lie, cashed a bit of it out after clearing the wagering on one of their reels, small but real money in the account so I'm happy 🤑💰 Lucky Nugget had a no deposit thing ages back too, think that expired though. Guts ran a decent bonus for a while, and Jackpot City still does the deposit match ones if you're putting in anyway. Candy Casino is my pick right now though, spins smooth on the phone in the milking shed downtime 🔥🎰 Anyone else cleared the Big Candy one yet or still mid-wagering?
The hit is close, I can feel it.
