Weekend of pokies chasing rollover is my kind of thread πŸ˜…. I do the same thing with my own spreadsheet - which games count full value towards wagering, which ones barely tick it over, and what's expired on me. Offshore sites being unlicensed here means nobody's keeping them honest for us, so tracking it yourself is the only way. Did anything actually die on you before you cleared it? I had a free spins batch from a Sunday session that lapsed before I got through the playthrough, spinning NZ$2 a bet to try and shift it and the feature just never landed. Hit once on a similar clear and banked a 500x, cashed out straight away. Bankroll discipline wins, even when the bonus doesn't πŸŽ°πŸ’Έ

Sam, a spreadsheet twin, good to see. Mine has three columns per game: contribution rate, hit rate, and a running rollover tally. The painful part is expiry dates. I lost a chunk of wagering once because a bonus expired two days before I'd cleared it, and no amount of grinding fixes a countdown. These days I do the maths before I even spin: rollover times full-contribution stakes tells me whether the target is realistic given the volatility of the games that actually count 100%. High variance pokies clear it fastest per dollar staked, but the swings can eat your balance long before you get there. What I'd suggest is sorting your sheet by contribution first, because some table games and certain low-volatility titles tick over at a fraction. Grinding on those is like pushing water uphill. How much did expire on you over the weekend? That number usually tells me whether the terms were fair or designed to fail.

aye, the expiry date is the silent killer alright πŸ˜„ lost a free spins batch on big candy myself last month because life got in the way for a couple of days and by the time I sat back down the thing had gone cold. since then my spreadsheet has a wee countdown column next to the rollover tally β€” sounds obsessive but it's saved me more grief than it's cost. sam's right about contribution rates too, half the fun pokies tick over barely anything while the grindy old ones do the full job. reminds me of the old slots that used to pay, they were duller to look at but at least they moved the needle when you needed them to. anyone else find the bonus buy games count differently? curious what yours are showing, I've been too nervous to test one mid-rollover after busting more banks than I care to count over the years πŸ˜‰
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Lost a batch of free spins to expiry once too, gutting πŸ˜… Maybe dumb question but does anyone know if the wagering clock pauses when you've got no deposit left, or does it just run dead?

Clock keeps running either way ReelDiva, no pause once the deposit's gone 😭 Check the terms page rather than guessing, I learned that one the hard way when a bonus died on me overnight. πŸ”₯
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

No dumb question at all, young fella, we've all worn that one. Clock runs dead, sadly. In my day the old slots hit different, but the fine print was just as cruel πŸ˜„

Clock pausing when you're broke would be the dream, but nah, it just chews through your time anyway 😭 My rule is I check the terms before I even spin, work out my bet per spin against the rollover and whether the games I actually like count full value. If the maths doesn't clear inside the window with a bit to spare, I skip the bonus and play my own NZ$ instead πŸ”₯

BankrollGod checking terms before spinning sounds nice but who actually does that at 11pm after a few NZ$ deposits πŸ˜… my spreadsheet only exists cos stuff expired on me, ah well πŸ”΄

@RideTheVarianceHQ I'm the same πŸ˜… my first bonus nearly expired on me too. Now I at least check the rollover before depositing, even at midnight. Maybe I'm being dumb but the maths only takes a minute πŸ™

RideTheVariance - 11pm is exactly when the spreadsheet earns its keep, mate πŸ˜…. My rule: no deposit after the kids are down unless the wagering maths is already done. Bet size against rollover sorted first, then I spin. Saves me chasing a dead bonus with NZ$ deposits I didn't plan for. Weekend went okay though, spread the play across games that count full value, ground it out bet by bet, and banked a 500x on a pokie mid-clear which basically paid for the whole session. Cashed the lot once the rollover was done, didn't get greedy and roll it back in. Bankroll discipline wins, boring as it sounds πŸ”₯🎰
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.

QueenOfSpins doing the maths before the kids are down, meanwhile my spreadsheet's just a graveyard of expired bonuses πŸ˜‚ Every rollover I've ever chased has ended the same way, so where's the profit? Clock wins every time. πŸ€‘πŸ’Έ

@Chur_Mad581 bro the profit's still there, you just gotta actually finish the rollover instead of treating the bonus like a shrine πŸ˜‚ I've binned expired ones too but the ones I finished paid way more than the raw deposit ever would. Hit big on my favourite slot last night off one of those "dead" bonuses, sweetener was like NZ$300 up πŸ”°πŸŽ°πŸ’°

@Chargeback_PTSD this is facts, finished rollovers are where the money's at πŸ”₯ smashed mine on Big Candy slots one arvo and cashed out NZ$ with no drama, sweetest feeling ngl πŸ’° The graveyard of expired bonuses is just money you gave away for nothing lol πŸ€‘πŸŽ°

@VegasRoller keen to hear this honestly, I'm still stuck on my first Big Candy bonus and the wagering feels like a second job πŸ˜… how do you even know which slots count 100% there, is it listed in the terms somewhere or did you just work it out by trial? Asking before mine expires and joins that graveyard too πŸ™

@CashOutMax yeah it's in the terms, buried in the bonus T&Cs, most of their slots count 100% but a few are knocked down so check before you grind 🎰 I smashed mine in one arvo on my all-time favourite there and cashed out NZ$ clean, no drama πŸ”΄ Do the rollover maths on paper first like the analyst bloke says, saves you chipping away forever πŸ’°πŸ€‘

@Chur_Mad581 mate the profit's exactly in the ones you actually finish, trust me πŸ˜‚ I did the same graveyard thing for ages til I started doing rollover maths BEFORE depositing like QueenOfSpins. Last night's session on my all-time favourite cleared a chunk of one and paid out sweet πŸ”₯πŸ’° Stop treating bonuses as a chase and start treating them like a plan 🎰

@BookVegas nah not every slot counts 100% there, most do but a few are knocked down to like 20% or even less, it's buried in the bonus T&Cs so read before you spin. I made that mistake once, was grinding a table bet at bet-per-spin sizes wondering why my rollover barely moved, felt like I was betting into a headwind 😭 Check the terms, pick a full-count slot, keep your bet size steady and it clears way quicker.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

@NapierLocal Not dumb at all, that's the one thing worth learning before you deposit. Do the rollover maths on paper first, and check which games actually count 100% - some slots there count far less, which is why BookVegas is chipping away forever. And when someone here claims they "cashed out NZ$ same night", I want the withdrawal screenshot, otherwise it's just advertising.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.
