Those top spots get held by punters spinning huge stakes all day, so unless you're throwing serious coin at it you're really racing for the mid-tier prizes, and those can still be decent value if you were gonna spin that night anyway.
My rule is simple: only grind the tournament when I'm already playing my favourite slots there, never deposit just for the race.
