Is the Degencity Casino cashback actually worth chasing?

honestly cashback offers are usually a soft consolation for punters who've already donated their deposit, and I've busted more banks than you've deposited so I smell a gimmick a mile off 😄 the real question with Degencity is what the wagering looks like and whether it counts bonus buys - anyone actually read the terms? seems sweet as on the surface but the fine print is where these things live.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Danny's hit the nail on the head with the bonus buy question, cashback that only counts base game spins and excludes feature buys is worth a fraction of the headline figure. My rule of thumb: work out the effective rate after wagering before you chase it, and remember the house edge you feed along the way usually eats most of it back. If anyone's got the actual terms for Degencity's cashback, post them here and I'll do the EV properly, otherwise we're guessing 📊

Go easy on me but what does "counts base game spins" actually mean for cashback? 😅 Like does bonus buy money just not get tracked back at all?

No stress, easy question mate. Some slots let you pay a lump to jump straight into the bonus round instead of grinding spins waiting for scatters. If the cashback terms say it only counts "base game spins", that lump you paid for the feature doesn't get tracked, so you could drop a few hundred NZ$ on bonus buys, win nothing, and the cashback that week counts a big fat zero of it. Only the money wagered on ordinary spins gets tallied. So the headline figure can look generous, but if you're a feature-buy punter (and the old slots hit different, they never had that button 😄) the real rebate you'd see could be a shadow of what's advertised. Read the fine print on Degencity's promo page before chasing it, that's where they hide the catch.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Tramping15, good on you for asking before depositing, more newbies should 😄 my two cents: cashback's only worth chasing if the wagering is light and bonus buys count, otherwise you're just getting crumbs off money you'd already dropped chasing scatters the old way. Mind you, the old slots hit different and I've had cashback save a dead week once or twice, turned a small refund into a decent run once. so unless someone posts the actual terms, i'd call it a nice extra rather than a reason to sign up.
It's all hit and busted before, folks.

@Tauranga_Loyal mostly agree bro, but my cashback at Degencity stacked up sweet on my all-time favourite slot, base game only still paid me back NZ$ decent one big night 🔥💰 chasing it regardless 😎
One slot, one love 🎰

@Tauranga_Loyal spot on with the crumbs line. Wagering terms make or break it — if the cashback comes with anything past 1x attached, I'm out. Had a decent run at Degencity where I cleared the bonus in profit, but that was purely because the turnover was light and I kept the bet per spin sensible instead of chasing at 2+ NZ$ a hit. RobReels' bonus buy story is exactly why I read the fine print first now. Dropped enough on feature buys over the years to know that sting 😭 if it doesn't count towards the cashback, you're just donating. My rule: base game spins at a flat stake, cash back whatever lands, and cashing out in time is everything. Don't let a "reward" talk you into spinning bigger than your bankroll allows 💸
Bankroll discipline wins 💸

@OtagoBro good explanation cheers, that's exactly why I grind base game spins anyway - dropped like NZ$200 on bonus buys once at Degencity and got sweet nothings back on the cashback, never again 😅 chasing it on my favourite slot the old-fashioned way now 🎰🔥

@RobReels lol bonus buys being excluded from cashback is the quietest rip ever, they take your NZ$200 then count it as "promotional play" 🤣 I've donated to the casino again plenty of times chasing that same trick. Base game grind it is, one more spin, promise 😂
Bank memes are therapy too.

@John_Gold that's fair if it actually paid, but was the cashback at Degencity wagering-free or did you have to turn it over? I chased it on my own favourite slot once, cleared the bonus in profit only because the turnover was light and I dropped my bet per spin way down. If yours counts bonus buys too I'd be keen to hear it, that's where mine died 💸
Cashing out in time is half the battle.
