Is the Boo Casino welcome offer in NZ actually worth it?

Worth it depends almost entirely on the wagering attached to the welcome package, and nobody here has actually posted the terms yet. High wagering on a matched deposit is a very different beast from a handful of free spins with low playthrough, since your spin sample is tiny and variance will decide most of it anyway. RTP is long-run, not one session. Has anyone got the actual bonus terms in front of them?

fair point about the terms, otago, seen too many punters grab a match bonus without reading the playthrough and then wonder where their balance went. back in the day the old-school grind worked because rtp used to be fairer, nowadays a welcome package with heavy wagering is mostly a free look at the lobby. i'd wait till someone here actually posts what the free spins wagering is before chucking money in.😉

The whole thing really comes down to how quickly you can cycle through the required bets before the bonus cash turns into dead money. If the wagering is too steep, it doesn't matter how generous the starting welcome offer is, you're basically locked into high turnover grinding. You need to look at the gross return potential on the slots offered versus the effort needed to clear the bonus.
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

Maybe a dumb question but when yous say the bonus turns into "dead money" after the wagering, does that mean the bonus cash itself gets removed once you finish the playthrough, or just the winnings from it? 😅 Trying to work out the Boo welcome offer myself before depositing, cheers

Good on you for asking, love, plenty of punters never do. Dead money just means the bonus cash sits locked in your account until you've turned it over the required number of times, so you can spin with it but you can't withdraw a cent of it till the wagering's cleared, and if you don't finish in time it usually vanishes along with any winnings riding on it. What exactly gets kept and what gets stripped on the Boo welcome offer I couldn't tell you, the terms will spell that out, so read them before you drop your first NZ$ in. 😄
I remember the old slots first-hand.

That's what tripped me up on my first deposit too 😅 I deposited NZ$20, played through the bonus on pokies thinking the winnings were mine, then realised nothing was cashable till the playthrough cleared. MissFortuneVegas your reading sounds right to me, the bonus and any winnings stay locked until you finish the wagering, so worth checking which games actually count towards it before you sign up at Boo 👍

Grey-haired wisdom for ya, MissFortuneVegas: read the bonus terms before you put a dollar in, the wagering bit especially. Busted more banks than I'd like admitting by skipping that bit 😄

Same here RngGodGate, first deposit I made I spun through the Boo bonus and only then clocked the wagering hadn't even started counting how I thought it was 😅 The terms bit Danny said is the real deal, still working out bonuses myself but reading the playthrough first has saved me already. Cheers for the breakdown Diamond_win2012, that helps a lot 🙌

Short verdict from me: the Boo welcome offer is only as good as its playthrough maths, and until someone pastes the actual wagering terms in here nobody can call it worth it. EV is still negative once the rollover is applied, the only real question is how negative. If the multiplier is light and pokies count 100%, worth a punt; if it's steep or only some games contribute, you're basically donating.
Volatility > vibes.
