Is King Billy's cashback worth chasing for NZ players or a gimmick?

Chased a lot of cashback deals over the years and the first thing I check is the terms page, and King Billy's is the problem here. Keen as I am on the offer for NZ players, I can't find the actual cashback terms spelled out anywhere: no percentage, no word on which games count towards it, and nothing on the rollover before you can cash out. That's a hard pass from me until it's written down. Bankroll discipline says you never chase a bonus you can't maths. If the cashback sits at a decent rate with low wagering, it can be worth a go; if it's got a chunky rollover or only counts losses on games nobody plays, it's dead on arrival. Anyone actually cleared it and can say what the wagering was like? Cashing out in time is everything, but you can't time a cashout on terms that don't exist 😅

Back in the day I turned 50 into 5k on Book of Ra and thought I'd cracked the code - the code was I never read the small print 😉 Same rule applies to this cashback, BachLoyal. If King Billy won't spell out the percentage, which games count and the rollover, treat it as marketing until they do. An offer you can't read is an offer you can't price.

Agree with both of you here, and I'd add the maths angle: cashback only has positive expected value if the effective rebate beats the cost of the wagering attached to it. If they attach, say, a rollover to the cashback itself, you're basically playing with house money you have to churn through, and that churn has its own variance. A 0.1% RTP edge over the rollover requirement can quietly eat half the rebate before you ever see it, which is why the missing terms matter more than the headline. What I'd want spelled out before chasing it: the percentage, whether the calculation is on net losses or gross, which games contribute (high-volatility pokies vs low ones weight that differently), and any cap. My spin sample on any given week is tiny, so a cashback that actually applies across everything is worth more to me than a bigger one restricted to dead games. Until King Billy publishes that in plain English for NZ players, I'd treat it exactly as Diamond says. Marketing copy, nothing more.

This thread is kind of freaking me out a bit 😅 I made my first deposit there recently and was eyeballing the cashback, but now I realise I haven't got a clue what the rollover on it even is. If they won't list the percentage or which games count, do you reckon support would actually spell it out if I asked? Genuinely asking, go easy on me 🙏

Same boat here 😅 dumb question: does "rollover" mean I have to bet the cashback amount a few times before cashing out? That the idea?

no dumb question at all, lad, that's exactly the right thing to ask before you chase it. rollover just means you have to bet the cashback money through a certain number of times before it turns into real withdrawable cash. say you got NZ$10 back and the rollover is 5x. You'd need NZ$50 in spins before you can take anything out. the higher that number, the more the "free" money is really just bonus credit keeping you playing. and that's the whole worry with King Billy here, nobody in this thread can find the actual percentage, the qualifying games or that rollover figure written down anywhere. back when the old slots hit different, the terms were right there in black and white, and even then I got caught once or twice. these newbies who deposited already: don't panic, just hold off chasing the cashback until the terms actually show up on the page.

good instincts showing already, you two. half the trick is asking before you chase. and if king billy won't put the rollover and eligible games in plain sight, that silence tells you plenty 😄

That NZ$10 example finally made it click for me, cheers 😅 so if I got cashback and the rollover was say 5x, I'd be spinning through it before it counts as real money. My worry with King Billy is the same as Danny said. I went looking for the terms on which games count and couldn't find it spelled out either, which makes me nervous since I've only just started learning bonuses. Maybe I'm being dumb but I'd rather know the wagering before depositing more 🙏
New here, soaking it up.

chrissie nailed it with that click moment 😄 only thing id add is that the king billy promos page itself has been vague every time ive poked at it. You get the shiny cashback banner alright, but the bit that matters, the rollover and which games actually count, ive never seen spelled out. reminds me of the old slots that used to pay - the paytable was right there on the glass. these days you're digging through fine print that isn't even written yet.

OtagoBro summed it up exactly right I reckon 😅 that banner is the only bit King Billy makes easy. I've only been doing bonuses a couple months but every decent one I've cleared had the rollover and eligible games in plain sight, so the silence here makes me wary 🤔 guess I'll email support and ask before depositing again.

Emailing support is the right move, if they can't give you the cashback percentage, eligible games and rollover in writing, I wouldn't put a cent of bankroll on it. A cashback deal you can't clear the wagering on is dead weight, and I've skipped plenty of promos for less. Keen to hear what they come back with, might change my verdict 🔥
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@DunedinLegend sensible advice and all, but I'd go one further. If they can't tell you the rollover up front, my assumption is the rollover is the whole point of the promo 😏 I've chased a few cashback deals that read like free money and turned into a guaranteed minus long-run once you actually did the maths on the wagering. By the time you've spun through it you're down more than the cashback was worth, which is a magic trick when you think about it. There's also the offshore side of things, no licence here yet means if the terms get "clarified" after you've deposited, good luck arguing with anyone. So aye, email support. If the reply comes back vague or takes three days, that IS the answer 😂 where's the profit in chasing a rebate you can't pin down?

@DunedinLegend agree with the logic, though I'd go a step further on cashback specifically. Even if they put the rollover in writing, I want a cashout screenshot from someone who's actually cleared it, because a written promo and a withdrawal actually landing are two different things with offshore sites. Post the reply support gives you if you can, word for word.
RTP doesn't lie, win screenshots do.

@OtagoBro yeah the banner does all the talking while the rollover plays hide and seek 😂 my bank left in style chasing vaguer promos than this one. Email support first, trust nothing 🤣
One more spin, promise.
