Got burned by a wagering trap at Rocket Riches Casino
Cheers for posting this, it saves someone the headache. Game weighting is exactly where they get you, your pokies count partly towards the rollover while you grind through, and by the time you notice you're already deep in. And keep in mind these offshore sites have no local licence here, so if a dispute kicks off you've got no real recourse. The bonus maths needs to be worked out before you deposit, every time.
Licence first, deposit after.
ah the old weighting shuffle, been caught by that myself more than once 😄 turned NZ$50 into NZ$5k once back on the pokies that actually paid, then busted half of it chasing a rollover because my go-to games were counting for next to nothing. lesson stuck, eventually.
Wellington15 is dead right, you notice it only when you're already knee-deep in the grind, and by then you're spinning games you don't even like just to clear the thing. these days i read the weighting table before i touch any offer, boring as that sounds. and worth keeping in the back of your mind: it's an offshore site, so nobody local to complain to if it all goes sideways. greed writes cheques the balance can't cash, as my old man used to say 😉
I remember the old slots first-hand.

Story of my bonus clearing too - cleared a rollover once grinding dead-weight pokies at bet minimum, banked the win and cashed out same session. Read terms first now, every time 🎰
Bonus taken, wagering cleared.
This thread is doing me a favour, first deposit last week and I hadn't even thought about weighting 😅 where do yous actually find the contribution table, buried in terms or listed separately? 🙏
New here, soaking it up.
Answering the young fella, usually it's a separate page in the promo terms, sometimes it's tucked away under "game weighting" or whatever, but don't take their word for it, scroll down to the table itself. Some places bury it three clicks deep hoping you won't look, sweet as for them if you don't.
And the other trap the lads haven't mentioned yet: table games and live dealer often count for next to nothing or nothing at all, so if your natural game is blackjack or roulette you'll be grinding that rollover till Christmas. Learned that one the hard way myself, back when the old slots hit different and you didn't need a law degree to clear a bonus 😄 And keep in the back of your mind these offshore outfits aren't licensed here, so if a stoush ever kicks off over your withdrawal there's no local help. Another reason to read everything before you drop a cent.
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
Tramping15, I only found the weighting table after going through the exact same thing 😅 buried under a link that said something vague like "bonus conditions". Maybe I'm being dumb but I didn't even know weighting existed until my pokies weren't counting properly. Thanks heaps though, this thread is genuinely helping 🙏
Learning to clear wagering, go easy 🙏
Same thing happened to me at Rocket Riches honestly 😅 was spinning my usual favourite pokies every evening thinking the rollover was ticking down, then checked the bonus tab and half my spins were barely counting. Felt like grinding in neutral the whole session, ah well.
That's why I just flat-out skip the welcome bonus now and play my own NZ$ deposit — wins are mine straight away, no wagering hanging over me. And worth remembering this mob is offshore, so if a dispute ever kicks off there's no local regulator to cry to. Trust your gut before grabbing the free spins 🔥🎰
Backing my slot to the last spin.
This whole thread has me checking my bonus tab like ten times a day now 😅 total noob here still working through my first deposit, and I only just realised the pokies I actually enjoy playing might be worth way less towards the rollover than the ones I've been ignoring. So if I'm reading this right, the game counts a percentage towards clearing the wagering, and some games count barely anything or not at all? That would explain why my progress bar feels like it's crawling even though I'm spinning every night after work 🙃
Thanks Tauranga_Loyal for the tip about scrolling to the actual table, will do that before touching my next offer. Only thing worrying me is that these offshore sites aren't licensed here in NZ, so if a dispute ever came up I'd have nowhere local to take it. Anyone found out the hard way how these mob handle it? 🙏

That Rocket Riches weighting thing got me too, checked my bonus tab after reading this and turns out the pokies I hammer every evening count way less than the boring ones I never touch 🤑 grinding in neutral is the perfect way to put it. Stuck with it anyway and hit big last night so no complaints from me 😱🔥
The hit is close, I can feel it.
This thread just saved me before my first bonus even lands 😬 so the weighting table is what I check first now? Cheers, that helps heaps.

Everyone's quoting the weighting table now, good. One thing though, Rocket Riches is offshore with no local licence, so if a rollover dispute ever goes sideways you've got nowhere to complain. Worth remembering before signing up.

@Provably_Lab grinding in neutral is exactly it mate 🤣 did the same on my last Rocket Riches bonus, spent two nights on my favourite pokies, checked the tab, realised I'd basically donated to the casino again and barely moved the rollover. Now I just play the boring ones with a podcast on, feels like doing homework that pays lol 😂
The only serious thing here is my bust.
PaulJandal that donated-to-the-casino feeling is too real 😭 did the same thing once, two nights of spins and the rollover barely budged. Now I check the weighting table before I even take the offer, and I run small bet per spin so the bankroll lasts long enough to actually clear it. InRTPweTrust has a point about no local recourse too, so I only ever deposit what I'm happy to lose there.
Cashing out in time is half the battle.

@RollerChaser51 yep, weighting table first, then the max bet rule and how long you've got to clear it 😅 maybe I'm being dumb but I only learnt that after my own first deposit here, spun pokies that barely counted and watched my NZ$ grind down doing nothing for the rollover. InRTPweTrust's point about no local licence is worth keeping in mind too 🙏

@ChrisInvercargill nah not dumb mate, everyone learns that one the hard way 😅 first bonus I took there I was on the wrong pokies too and the rollover just sat there laughing at me. Now I check the weighting table before I even deposit, and honestly Rocket Riches still counts my favourites decent so it's not all bad 🔀🎰
Spinning reels dawn to dusk.
Ran the Rocket Riches rollover myself last winter, same story. Word is their next bonus counts the pokies properly 😏🤫 those who know, know.
Slot's heating up, don't ask details.
Honestly I've had way worse rollover runs elsewhere 😅 took the Rocket Riches welcome thing myself and yeah the weighting on some pokies is rough, but my favourites still counted decent so I just stuck to those with small bets and let the spins do their thing. Got there eventually ngl 🎰🔥
@LuckIsAllLoyal wait what's this about the next bonus counting pokies properly?? 👀 if that's true I'm gonna be first in line lol. Been loyal to this place through some grindy ones, a fairer rollover would be huge 🙏 anyone know when it drops or you keeping it vague on purpose 😏
